Orihuela beaches ready for Easter week !

Councillor Lisa Boné has visited the work that was being done on the beaches in Orihuela to get them ready for Easter.

The Town Hall has been working with the Ministry for the Environment and the Valencian Government to restore them after the damage caused by successive storms this winter to the promenades, foot taps, sand and containing walls, etc.

“We work all year round to keep the beaches and services in the condition that residents deserve but the storms and the administrative procedures to be able to repair them are very slow sometimes,” she said.

The promenade garden areas are being improved by repairing the irrigation and replacing palm trees, and the lifts to Barranco Rubio and Punta Prima have been repaired and are working.

Over Easter the lifeguard service will have 27 people from April 8th-17th from 10am until 6pm, with two lifeguards per beach, an ambulance and four amphibious chairs so that disabled people can go in the water at La Glea, Barranco Rubio, Cala Bosque and Cala Capitán.
